Cursed City: zombies, part 1

I have completed the first five zombies from the Cursed City box, and they have a lot of fiddly detail about them:

Okay so those coffin tops on their backs are held there by a steak which runs through the chest of each model and out the other side. The coffin tops may have soil on them, and flowers, and grass tufts, and maybe a gravestone, some flowers, some candles(!) and a bird. All these details – to say nothing of the roots growing through and out of the zombies – mean as you paint you’ll be making a lot of passes to pick out different bits. This is not the kind of model set you want to use for a zombie horde, in my opinion. Painting up the ten in the box will be quite enough for me!

I’ll admit I keep getting scared off from painting these, they’re really lovely models but as you say – hellishly fiddly. You’ve done a great job on them though. 🙂

Yes, definitely fiddly, though I’m glad you like the result!

Looking good! Perhaps this level of detail is best for the skirmish game of Cursed City and you could get some slightly less blinged-out zombies if you ever fancy a horde of them.

Luckily I have the SAGA revenants if I ever need a horde, I would definitely look for something other than these models to paint 50-100 of!
