Games Workshop have given us a number of model previews recently, leading up to a mainstream release of a Horus Heresy tabletop game. The latest is this land raider tank:
It’s no secret that there’s a new game on the way, though the exact contents are not confirmed. However everything we have seen dovetails in with some rumours from before the announcement of the game. I don’t usually get involved much in rumours as these days I am content to wait and see what gets released (and at what price!) before making any decisions.
But I have to confess these releases have left me thinking that my first project after finishing off my existing miniatures will be a Heresy army or two.
Rumour suggests the release game will be truly huge in terms of the miniatures contained in the box:
Launch Box “Heta-Gladius” £240
53 miniatures, including a dreadnought and a vehicle is more than we usually see. According to rumour we could see this boxed set as early as June. The price in sterling suggests that the Australian price could well exceed $600, so I hope you have a birthday planned for that month!
Also noted has been that a lot of the previous Heresy range offered by Forgeworld has dropped off and is not being restocked. Could we see a steady release of Heresy vehicles in plastic? My wallet hopes not!
The new model doesn’t look as silly as the original Land Raider. Putting the doors behind the side gun mounts makes sense, and if you have armour, you don’t have to worry about the front door opening to a hail of fire in your face. If I was driving it, though, I would still want more tread on the tracks for all that space mud 🙂
Regards, Chris.

I’m very excited about the plastic Spartan. I have a Forgeworld Typhon (which is basically the same chassis) and I love it.

I’m looking forward to seeing whether other Forgeworld heresy models come out in plastic, especially the tanks
