Scent of a Gamer

From the computer to the tabletop, this is all about games. Updated each week-end.

Shieldmaidens

I picked these four models up a number of years ago from bad Squiddo games. I thought it was recently, but they already seem to have moved on out of the current range, so it was probably more like 4-5 years ago I picked these up.

These are nice enough models, with a bit of 90s metal nostalgia about them. Funnily enough painting them reminded me of a things that tended to annoy me about metal models, for me, hard plastic is all I want these days.

Excellent they have come up well. The Bad Squiddo range is excellent I have their “Land Girls” and some of their scenics to paint.

I do like the hard plastics, however the one thing I really miss about the old metal figure is the weight. Some how they just feel right in the hand or moving around the tabletop!

You can always tell the difference when you’re carrying a metal army to the table!

Not sure if it is bias or not but I find metals paint up a lot better. Perhaps because I enjoy painting them more.
