A Primarch returns

The Primarch of the First Legion is now the second Primarch to return in Warhammer 40,000.

For years it has been rumoured that Lion El’Johnson of the Dark Angels legion was being held in stasis somewhere within the Rock. These rumours have now been proven correct, as the Lion emerges to fight off a chaos attack on the Dark Angels fortress.

The miniature is suitably impressive:

The Lion is accompanied by the Watchers in the Dark, and I am looking forward to seeing the storyline changes that accompany his return. In the Horus Heresy, the Lion and Gulliman frequently argued, at one point Gulliman exiled the Lion and his legion from Ultramar.

Dark Angels player can be happy for now, though. Check out Warhammer Community for the full preview.

He’s an absolutely stunning model isn’t he? Really cool set of reveals this time I thought, on a normal night the Lion would have stolen the show but here he was just one highlight amongst many.

Yes, I agree, this model is great but soon got lost in the noise of the new edition and other reveals.

Gorgeous model. I have an image in my head of the Lion in the Horus Heresy (based on the novel covers) and it’s neat to see an older, more grizzled version. From a lore point of view, I still don’t like that the story has moved beyond the opening salvos of the 13th Black Crusade (I’m a curmudgeon haha), but it is cool that there are more and more 40k primarchs for gamers to play from their favorite legions.

Yes, this model looks fantastic, and one I am tempted to buy just to paint.
