Yesterday I finished painting the last of my miniatures, but as I started tidying away my various painting supplies, I realised I have a lot here:
One useful item at a time, this collection has built up over roughly the same number of years as my miniatures. There’s a bias towards more recent stuff since these items are used up eventually.
I think the cutting mat is my most recent addition, and I wish I knew about them sooner, it’s been used maybe twice. The paint brushes here are my newest, being a Christmas gift, and one I have used almost exclusively for Contrast Paints, so they are noticably cleaner compared to my other brushes. The waterslide transfers to the left of the cutting mat date to the mid 1990s, but they still work, and I used them as recently as the Khandish chariot.
Six plastic tubs make up my bits boxes, and not pictured here is another larger box of terrain bits.
Plenty of paints left over too! This isn’t the kind of collection I would recommend to someone starting out, but it’s the kind of thing that can build up over the years.
I could get more use from all this if I bought more miniatures…
I have a feeling that you will find a use for those paints!

Definitely, and I see Dana Howl recently added a ‘get started with an airbrush’ video to YouTube and I still have mine unused. Now that I’m not trying to meet a goal I can take some time to learn how to use one and see if it suits me.

There was a comic strip from Dungeon Magazine that suggested if a wargamer completed all of his models then he would die the next day. Just sayin’

My favorite cutting mats are these large ones meant for fabric and the like but big enough to cover a much larger portion of the table – perfect for terrain work. Looking like a great hobby area.
