I completed the second of my two Heresy characters, and these remain the only miniatures I have from the range… for now.
I painted Zephon using a mix of contrast and regular acrylics. I used the same basing material as on Fafnir Rann a couple of weeks ago, but this time I first added some larger concrete blocks to better represent the ruined state of the Imperial Palace where he fights.
I briefly considered a wraithbone-style base to represent his time in the webway, but the concrete he stands on is part of the model so I went with more of that.
Where’s the countdown, you ask? We’re getting closer now:
Cool model.
If running with pencils or scissors is dangerous, is he pushing his luck? Asking for a friend 🙂
Regards, Chris.

The red and gold both look great on this dynamic sculpt. I hope we’ll get to see you paint more Horus Heresy down the road too.

Thanks, I’m leaning towards getting some more Horus Heresy models, but I will give myself a break once the count gets to zero and then see what to buy!

He looks great, and a good choice to add additional concrete to his base, I think. 👍

He’s looking great, and well done on getting the count so close to zero – that’s already a very impressive achievement.

When I started, getting the count to stay under 1,000 felt like an achievement at first! Now the count is so low I can barely believe it. Part of me is expecting to find a big box of models I have forgotten about!
