Tray 9: the final tray

Here it is, the last of my trays:

This one is looking sparse compare with earlier trays, as this is all I have left to paint – well almost all. I found a couple of old models, mainly Bretonnians, covered in paint from years ago. If I can successfully strip them back and re-undercoat, they will be added the to trio of archers near the front right of the tray. Oh, and there’s a fourth classic chaos knight, but I can’t find a steed for him. That’s it though – promise!

Most of these models fall into the ‘forgot I owned these’ category. A Mordor siege bow, four tech guard (remember Confrontation?), Moria goblins and more besides. All shall fall beneath my mighty brush!

Fafnir Rann and Zephon are recent impulse purchases, and the models coming from odd issues of Mortal Realms are a mistake. I wanted some of the undead models that appear in the later issues, but those were already all reserved at the newsagent, so I panicked and ordered the ones in between the issues I actually wanted, giving me some random Sigmar models. Never mind.

The final tray beckons!

I’m pretty sure you mean “The Last Tray (for now)” but you’ve made impressive progress using this system! 🙂 While I think on, what do you use to strip the paint off the oldies to re-use them?

Thanks, John and I think you are right about the tray. For the older models I have used isopropyl alcohol

Love that terrain, by the way. Where did it come from?

The castle walls are for the Citadel castle of around 1998, while the other terrain came from issues of Mortal Realms magazine – I think it is Warcry terrain.
