Scent of a Gamer

From the computer to the tabletop, this is all about games. Updated each week-end.

Cave Drake

There has to be a last model on every tray, and in this case I saved the best for last:

This is an imposing model, and I painted it with a limited selection of colours to try and let the details speak for themselves.

Here’s the drake next to one of the classic drakes from the same tray.

I took this pic to show the drake towering over some of the other models from the game tray.

Excellent model and the limited palate works very well.

Nice, well done! Always did like that model. The LOTR line from GW takes well to more muted and realistic palettes, and it shows well here.

Thanks, and yes I really liked the Middle Earth range, and this drake is no exception

Excellent work. You’ve done a great job picking out the texture of the scales.

Thanks for that – my partner in crime there was Black Templar contrast paint!

This is a classic model from GW and I like the realistic purple tones too. It suits this sculpt and setting very well indeed!

Great work on this one, Dave! I recall this being a SBG model that came late in the post-film releases. Never seen one painted aside from the official version, and you’ve done a great job with it! 🙂
