Today I painted a classic Samurai model, which was gifted to me in the 1990s:
This figure actually completes one of my earliest projects, one I defined in 2012 as part of the planning process for starting this blog. Here is the original shot of what I then called my fantasy heroes collection:
A few were painted, but most were little more than an undercoat and an idea. Even the Warhammer Quest wizard snuck in there somehow!
Today the heroes are complete, although one figure didn’t make it – the Avatars of War slayer. I just couldn’t get his hand to stay glued to his forearm, and rather than mess about with pinning I passed the model along to someone who would get some use out of it.
So the project is complete, it only took 9 and a half years!
Congratulations! That’s a really cool project and the terrain is a nice touch for displaying them. Well done.

Thanks for that – it was fun trying to re-pose them all the same way I did back in 2012!

Very cool and congratulations Dave! Love the before and after shots as well to really illustrate the point. š
Congratulations are also in order, I think, for completing the project so quickly! 9 years is a time frame I only wish I could match. (Not sarcasm, sadly… š¶)
