James Workshop was right! One of the preview figures shown this weekend by Games Workshop include some new plastic eldar guardians:
These are the first new Eldar guardians since the 1990s. The Eldar range is so old that much of it was never made in plastic and it difficult to find today. I have seen more than one comment online asking why the Eldar have chainswords. The Eldar have an elite troop type called the Striking Scorpions who come with chainswords as standard, but the unit is not part of the current range and is available only in poor quality resin. It’s quite likely that someone could have been playing Warhammer 40,000 for ten years without coming across this unit.
Hopefully this is the first in a series of plastic releases for the Eldar.

As much as I’ve complained about GW stuff for the last year, I am unbelievably excited for this release. It’s like Christmas but with a slice of humble pie for dessert.

As much as I like a little love for non-smurf-boys – thanks to that GW has just dmca’ed every 3d printing patreon and gotten rid of their non-eldar space-elf sculpts. Lucky me I got Heroes Infinite ones before that…
