Genestealers on Earth

Shadow Throne, the forthcoming box set for Warhammer 40,000 that Games Workshop previewed last weekend, features the elite Custodian Guard against the insidious genestealer cults.

The story behind this box game is that a genestealer cult has been discovered on Earth. For those unfamiliar with the minutiae of the Warhammer 40,000 background, when genestealer cults are sufficiently entrenched on a planet, they will send out a call which summons a Tyranid fleet to come and devour everything.

This means the discovery of a genestealer cult on Earth could herald a more desperate conflict to come. For now, the box offers some existing miniatures and some new character models, as seems to be the norm with these box sets.
