It’s been over two years now since Games Workshop introduced their line of Contrast Paints, and the markers show that the line has been a success. Other companies are now starting to bring out their own, similar lines to compete.
Scale 75 already have their Instant Color range and the next entrant is Army Painter, who have announced a 23-paint range of Speed Paints, coming in 2022.
There’s a product review at Spiky Bits which goes through the forthcoming Army Painter range.
For me the Contrast Paints have been a good addition to my paints. Not a replacement for them, but I find myself using the paints quite often, with the Arbalesters being almost entirely painted with Contrast, only the hair and metal was done using regular acrylics.
The presence of similar products on the market indicates to me that the range has been a hit. Also, the competing ranges come in more convenient containers!
Well as I love my Contrast paints, I might just have to give these a go.

I’ve seen a few vids on these and they look kind of cooler than contrasts BUT I haven’t had a whole lot of experience with contrasts though.

I have found contrast paints to be useful, but not a replacement for regular acrylics.

I didn’t know that other companies were getting in on the fun. I’ll be curious to see how these other paints are received in the hobby.

Yes, I think it will be interesting to compare.

Warcolours do a range too. Antithesis they call it.

Good to know there’s another range out there – I must admit I have never heard of Warcolours before this.

I’m yet to try them myself, but I’ve heard a lot of good things about them and they seem comparable to GW and Vallejo, though they’re gel based, as I believe are Scalecolour.
