Red Templars dreadnought

My first Red Templars model painted is this old dreadnought model. I picked it up as part of an experiment to see if their low-priced ‘build and paint’ range was worth it (it wasn’t). This is about as simple as dreadnought models get:

I have it a rubble base with some larger bits of rubble, and some Gamers Grass Alien Turquoise tufts to add a splash of contrasting colour to the red.

My first attempts at battle damage there could use some improvement but overall I’m happy with how this one came out.

It looks cool man. I really dig the old school dreadnoughts. The battle damage is good too.

Yeah, it looks good. I bought a few of those parted out from Black Reach with the thought of using spare arms to outfit them.

That sounds like a great idea, I must admit even as the most basic dreadnought you can get, I thought this one looks pretty good.

    I like it! 🙂 It’s a dreadnought without a doubt!

I think it looks good. Why do you feel that the range wasn’t worth it?

The plastic was really low quality, it had almost a chalky texture and was quite unlike the usual GW plastic.

I love the classic Dreadnaughts and painting them up in as Red Templars makes them look even more awesome. Great job on this one!

Nice! To be fair you could have had a 3 year old paint it and I still would have liked it as I just love the old boxnaunts
