Antonio Jose Manzanedo produces some visually stunning art featuring dragons, demons, and more besides. His art varies between dark and light, and always has details to catch the eye.
This majestic unicorn gallops through a field, the sun catching its horn.
You find a quiet sheltered spot for the night, set up a comfortable fire, then hear rustling from behind. You look up to see…
The colours in this illustration are just amazing to me.
Nurgle is a curious god. As the god of pestilence his followers spread rot and disease wherever they go. But they have a lot of fun doing so! There’s always an incongruous air of happiness about them. Except the Death Guard of course, bunch of sour sods.
This dragon flies across a lava field against a black sky.

I’m a sucker for dragons, but that unicorn is brilliant too. I’m browsing his site now, and there’s incredible images there. Thanks Dave!

That is the coolest unicorn I have ever seen! You chose another great artist to highlight for this series.

Yes, that unicorn is great, I would have picked up the magic card it’s on just for the art, but unfortunately the card is quite expensive.

That is a bummer that it is expensive. I feel like previous unicorn cards are something like a white (or maybe gold) creature that costs three and is a 1/1 or 2/2 flier. Nothing special really. I’m guessing the beautiful and expensive one is a bit more useful and sought after!

The set it was ok wasn’t widely distributed since it was designed for in store play. That meant the price has stayed higher than it otherwise would have. I notice it’s coming down now though.

That makes sense. I forgot that Magic did stuff like that which is silly of me because I bought some of the strange limited run things they released a long time ago. I’ll have to dig those up when I go back to my childhood home and see what I have!

They are stunning. As ever thanks for the introduction. I say thanks but could just as easily say damn you, as that’s more time spent perusing another site 😉

Even though they come out short, it takes me ages to write these articles for exactly that reason!
