Cursed City miniatures, now sold separately

Games Workshops pre-order previews had one interesting item this week:

Some of the models from the strangely ill-fated Cursed City set will now be sold separately. These represent two of the sprues from the box which disappeared suddenly and without explanation (still!).

Anyone keeping a list of potential reasons can cross off production of miniatures as the cause. Whether we see the hero sprues or general monster sprues released later remains to be seen. While it looks like the game won’t come back, anyone interested these models doesn’t have to pay ridiculous eBay prices for them.

They can pay ridiculous Games Workshop prices for them instead! Hooray!

Sounds like a lot of drama with the release of this game. Yeesh!

The latest rumour I heard about Cursed City was an IP issue over the use of the name/region Mournhold, which is used in the Elder Scrolls series.
How true this is though, I have no idea, but Twitter told me so it has to be true, right!?

It’s good to see that some of the models are going to be released for those that missed out though.

Interesting, as they did interfere with the development of the game ‘Scrolls’ early in its development over that game’s name.

It was a strange one. They released it and said it would be part of the range moving forward. Then it sold out, they said they had no plans to ever make more, and removed the links to Cursed City articles on the Warhammer Community page. They have not answered any follow up questions. It’s quite odd.
