My current tray contains a lot of my Middle Earth miniatures collection, so that will be a recurring theme over the next few weeks. Today’s effort is this Mordor Troll:
I like how the brown skin tone came out on the face, but on the rest of the body I’m not so sure. There’s a second Mordor troll on the tray, so I will try something different there.
This troll looks a bit different also as the images were taken at night. usually I take my images during the day to benefit from natural light. This time he’s painted about 12 hours before he’s due to go up here!
The troll set for Lord of the Rings was versatile, with parts to build a Mordor troll, Isengard troll, or Mordor troll drummer (which is the other Middle Earth troll on the current tray). Multiple sets leave you with lots of leftover parts, depending on how you build your trolls.
It’s a pretty good Troll kit, and certainly easier to build then the old metal ones! The old ones were great sculpts but they are crazy heavy.

Yes, I have the metal troll chieftain under the house, and I dread dropping him any time I pick the model up!

The troll came out great! It is another classic MESBG sculpt and I’m looking forward to seeing what you tackle next from LOTR 🙂
