Thanks to Jake I have discovered a new website to help hobbyists track their progress through their pile of miniatures. Pile of Potential is a website that lets you register and then add your models and track your own progress through painting them.
I’ve only had a small play so far, but it was easy enough to register and create new projects, along with categories to list them under. The site is definitely geared towards gamer hobbyists, with the ability to track your progress in terms of game points painted. This is great for army painters.
For collection painters like me it’s less straightforward. However from just a few minutes I can see how I could add my existing projects into the system. The site will allow you to track whether your models are assembled, undercoated, and based as well as painted.
You can then also share you project progress with others. What I didn’t see was a way of linking to pics of your painted models, but it might be there somewhere.
If you’re looking for an online way of tracking progress, Pile of Potential is definitely worth a look.
Alright, I’m going all in on this. This will take some time :O

Yes! I was also shown this site recently. I’ve put my Gloomspite and Necrons into it and it’s quite daunting, but I like the way you can progress your minis through the various stages until they are complete.
I really like this site!

Yes, I think I will eventually convert over to this, although many of my projects are set up for it as yet.

I’m scared!
I’ve at least 700 unpainted minis, if not breaking into a thousand. I want to do it, but I’m afraid it will only highlight my inadequacies!

As someone on the journey, I found the biggest help was deciding I was going to do it. After that it was just a matter of how.
