Scent of a Gamer

From the computer to the tabletop, this is all about games. Updated each week-end.

Astartes goes official

Some good news (I think) recently is that Games Workshop have hired the creator of the great Astartes series to continue making videos for them on a formal basis. The immediate effect of this is that the original videos have disappeared from the creator’s YouTube channel. A new Astartes channel has been created, with 900,000 subscribers as I type this, but there’s no videos other than an announcement of the change.

For now if you missed them, here’s a compiled playlist, which may not work for much longer, so enjoy while you can.

The videos are accessible on Warhammer Community

I’m choosing to feel optimistic about this, and look forward to seeing more content.

This has me excited, the style and atmosphere of those shorts hooked me. Hopefully GW doesn’t stifle that, rather I’m hoping that having their creator on board means it seeps into other releases

Yes, they were quick to get the videos up on the Warhammer Community website, and hopefully this means we see more regular updates to the series

Well, I guess the alternative from not so long ago would have been a C&D, so…

I know! If you had asked me a week ago to guess why the original Astartes videos would be gone from YouTube I would not have named this.
