I like this model, but I found it tricky to paint. It’s a metal model with so many ridges and troughs that even a spray undercoat followed by a brush on left lots of pinpricks of bare metal that I only noticed later on in the painting process.
In the end I went with a sort of black sun motif for the embossed banner, but then changed my mind, left the rays black, and went for a red/yellow sun. Looking back I really should have made the centre circle and eye.
Still I enjoyed painting the two Easterling models I’ve done recently, and I intend to put more Middle Earth miniatures on the next tray.
Very nice,

The double-edged sword of the metal crisp detail… And they eat brushes!

True! I had to be extra careful with this model to try and minimise the damage.

This is a great mini and I love how you use unconventional colors with your Easterlings too.

The fact that this one was embossed helped a lot!
