The female elf archer seems inevitable in dungeon games these days. The Bard correctly predicted we would see one in the new Heroquest, and here is the same character for Warhammer Quest: Cursed City:
At first glance I wasn’t impressed. To me this figure looks like it was shipped in from Warhammer Underworlds without any regard to Warhammer Quest. I was ready to be underwhelmed but reading her backstory on Warhammer Community actually increased my interest. With two of the ‘hero’ characters now revealed there seems to be a pattern emerging. These characters are all outcasts from their own factions, with little to unite them other than a hatred of the vampires ruling the Cursed City, and a determination to take them down. Works for me!
As you said, the bard called it. The model is okay, I am looking forward to seeing what else comes out for it.

With 6 more heroes still to be revealed there should be plenty of variety at least.

The backstory makes this character. Apparently most of GW’s hero minis are part of some ‘rock-hopping’ cult. Must be a new fitness class I missed…

Yes the pose has been done before, and for me at least nothing about that figure connects it to the setting, unlike the Witch Hunter we have already seen. The backstory does a great job of filling that gap.

I reckon she looks awesome – fingers crossed they bring back the old fashioned Wood Elves someday, there were some great models in that range but some pretty duff sculpts as well. Would be great to see some fresh life breathed into them.

I had an old man moment the other day when I realised that not only did Wardancers not make to to Age of Sigmar, but they aren’t in the Total War game either! Did they get left out of 8th edition and I didn’t notice? Probably.

Aye, it’s a bit of a shame they never made it into AoS. Can’t remember if they were in 8th edition WHFB now, I thought they were but now you mention it I wouldn’t swear to it. They are in Warhammer Total War though, I used them a bit in the Sisters of Twilight campaign I’m currently playing, although I tend to end up using a gunline of archers backed up by a few units of treekin most of the time 🙂

I completely agree with Wudugast’s sentiment above. I’m glad they seem to be taking heavy inspiration from WFB instead of AoS for this new game. So far, everything is looking great!
