This YouTube video is fairly straightforward; two guys talking about the significance of the original Dragonlance books – the first and second trilogies, both written by Weis and Hickman.
The stories get compared to a few other things, notable the original Star Wars trilogy, but these two mine their experiences reading the story to extract some greater meaning.
One thing I was reminded of in this was that the start of the first Dragonlance book is where many other RPG-based books end – at the fulfilment of a quest. The character here have spent five years pursuing their various goals, and meet again to trade stories and experiences. They are then swept up in events which at first seem greater than they are, but they soon shape through their actions.
A fun watch for any Dragonlance fan.
Will have to look this up
