This YouTube video from Geek Gaming jumped into my feed a few days ago. I liked Luke’s take on 3D printers. He freely admits they are a bit fiddly at times, but he uses them in turn to reduce what he sees as some of the fiddly bits in his hobby.
He also uses them to build models that will help him practise areas of his painting that he wants to improve.
I hadn’t really considered this. With nothing on the line but a bit of resin and overnight printing time, it’s easy to print a few models with faces, eyes, armour, or whatever you want to practise on, and get to it. No wrong answers.
Ever since I wrote about whether I should get a 3D printer, everything I have seen and heard has pushed me closer to yes.
I watched that video the other week. They’re (slowly) inching their way closer to the point where I’ll be willing to buy one.
