Games Workshop previewed a lot of things this past week-end, but the one which caught my eye was the new Warhammer Quest game, the Cursed City.
Details are scant so far, but the game has its own website now, where further details will be added as the release draws closer. What we were treated to is an image of one of the 8 heroes (Agents of Defiance, in game speak), and one of the overlords:
The change of setting from dungeon (or tower) to a city is a good one in my opinion. The Cursed City website has details of several city districts, which leads me to wonder whether the game will have a flat board, or more 3D terrain, and also whether we’ll see a base game with several expansions to flesh out the districts in more detail, kind of like Talisman.
It will be several more months before all is revealed but I’m looking forward to this one. My current Warhammer Quest collection (the original box, the two expansions, plus Silver Tower) is almost fully painted now. This set looks like it would make a nice addition. For some reason Warhammer Quest never really covered fighting the undead in great depth, the single expansion from the original game notwithstanding. If Cursed City changes that, all to the good.
Sounds deliciously ‘Mordheimy’ to me 🙂

That looks very interesting indeed. I never started with Mordheim, just not enough money as a teenager. This is one of the first things GW in quite some time that looks interesting to me. Now it all depends on the rest of the characters and their design.

Agreed. Early signs are good but I would like to see the other 7 heroes

Very excited about this, it looks like they made it for me! Also getting a very strong Mordheim vibe off it (the name Cursed City might be tipping us off!). I keep pouring over the video and the map looking for clues, that character with the cat on the right of the map has me curious. This also gives me a bit of a kick up the arse to get the rest of my Blackstone Fortress gear painted.

Looks very interesting. That Vampire slayer mini is almost a must buy for my cities of sigmar force now, considering I’ll be fighting Legions of Nagash a lot. Can’t wait to see what other miniatures are included in this set!

The witch hunter and the new vampire underworld models have got me more excited then any recent GW release.

I’m with everyone else. This release has got me more excited than most recent GW releases. I’m likely to pick this one up and can’t wait to hear more about it!
