This week’s Arta Monday is a Magic: the Gathering character illustrated by Jim Murray:
Kiku, Night’s Flower by Jim Murray
In this illustration we are looking up at the character as she drops a plucked flower to the ground – to our grave perhaps? Kiku is an assassin, after all.
What was the card text and colour? I would think black somehow.
It’s a black creature that can make other creatures damage or kill themselves: https://scryfall.com/card/chk/121/kiku-nights-flower
Very fitting indeed. Seems like a good way to get rid of large creatures, but I am not able to really assess how good she is in game terms.
It’s not especially good. Repeatable removal is useful, but most of the time there are better options, and she can’t deal with every creature.
Always a pity if good art is combined with an average card. So one for the album.
Yes, and I have this card in an album of cards with art I especially like!
