These Warhammer Quest skaven have been patiently waiting for me to paint them since 1994.
I’ve painted them now, in part using contrast paint which didn’t exist back then. There’s 11 in this image as I did paint one of these models back in the day. Once I get my painted model storage sorted out, I will do a ‘now and then’ type photo with that skaven and some of these new ones.
These are fine one-part plastic models, I deal for the endless rank and file models you have to paint if you wanted to do a skaven army. Not too detailed, not too plain, at least by the standards of their day. I really need to practise freehand dungeon tile patterns though!
Love that terrain piece.
It’s an old terrain piece from Games Workshop, released in the late 90s or early 2000s.
Blast from the past. Nice colour scheme. I see the Zombie green makes another appearance.
With the dungeon tile texture: you could use a needle tool and scribe it directly in the plastic.
Thanks for the tip, I would like to do something to create a proper dungeon tiles texture, these guys match my original attempts from the 90s.
Very nice- classic models.
Cheers,
Pete.
Yes, great one-part 90s plastics with cool shield designs!
Nicely done! I like the colours… I’m sure I’ll come back to this post once I get started on my own skaven, which might be next month.
thanks!
Quite interesting to see how scale creep has finally caught up to these early monopose Skaven. they were giants back in the day, now they just about fit in with the current figure line. Nice work!
Thanks!
