SAGA Revenants update 3

I have completed another 12 of the SAGA revenant army:

I have never been a batch painter by nature, and 12 models at a time is about my limit. It would have been quicker if I had painted all 36 remaining revenants in one go, but that’s too much for me.

I made a couple of small changes form the previous group of 12. I used mainly contrast paints again, but this time I mixed a bit of pink into the flesh tones here and there to create some ‘fresher’ looking patches. Gripping Beast produced 24 different revenants sculpts, and so every box contains 2 of each sculpt. There’s one double-up in the group here.

Shining blue eyes is just a thing I do with zombies now, thanks to Game of Thrones I suppose.

Really like the blue eyes. I might try that, too, when I get around painting up some Zombies.

Batch painting can be a nightmare. I only ever did it with 15mm. 28 would drive me crazy.

I blame the Game of Thrones show for the blue eyes thing. I know what you mean about batch painting, 12 models in a group is about my limit, and I’d much rather paint 1-4 at a time.

Very cool, fresher zombies with those brutal wounds makes me think they weren’t inflicted post-mortem. Grizzly!

Those look excellent. I share your perspective on batch painting. My hat’s off to those who can pull it off at scale. I’m lucky if I can muster 6 to 10 figures at a time, let alone 12 like you were able to do. Well done!

    Those are really great.

    Cheers,

Batch painting is tough and I think very few people are well-suited to doing it so hats off to you for knocking these out. They are great sculpts and I like the blue eyes as well. It helps underscore their ghastly nature!

Yes, these sculpts are great and managed to activate nostalgia I didn’t know I had for classic one-piece metal minis!

Well done. I too like the eyes. It’s nice having so much variety over a large group of figures. I’m not a fan of having large groups of identically sculpted minis.

Thanks, and you’re right, the good amount of variety really helped keep things interesting. There’s 24 different sculpts in the group of 48, which is great.

They look really good. Nice and nasty – but I still think zombies have the burning red eyes 🙂
