Once upon a Wednesday: skeleton jester

This was a model I had owned for many years before finally painting it in 2018.

I had been inspired to tackle some of my older models by one of Azazel’s monthly painting challenges. If not for those, this model could still be languishing in a box somewhere.

After posting it and saying that I didn’t know what range it was even from, this missing information was quickly filled in by Dave from The Imperfect Modeller. Bloggers to the rescue!

You can find the original article here, which includes a picture of the jester standing next to all the paints I used on him.

Really this is a short story about how interaction with other bloggers is shaping my hobby for the better. From giving me the impetus to paint models, identifying strange things, inspiring me with their own work, and of course providing encouragement and feedback, it’s no exaggeration to say that my goal of painting my full collection would not be happening without the other bloggers on this platform. So thanks, guys!

Couldn’t agree more, it’s the ability to interact and share ideas with other hobbyists (to teach if we are called upon, to be taught if we are fortunate) that makes this – in my view – a golden age for the hobby. I do like that jester and although I remember it from last time, looking back I don’t seem to have told you so before so I’m telling you so now – great stuff!

I don’t know which I like more! The jester or the sentiment you have expressed here. They are both excellent and it is always nice to see something positive in our hobby too.

It’s funny that when I started the flahsback series I thought it would simply be ‘look at this thing I did years ago’ but instead it’s turned out to be how the blogging community has been such a positive influence for me over the years!
