Scent of a Gamer

From the computer to the tabletop, this is all about games. Updated each week-end.

I have painted another of my Middle Earth miniatures. This one is Grishnakh, the orc who threatens Frodo in Mordor.

Grishnakh wears scraps of equipment and clothing he’s scavenged over the years. To paint this model I broke out the Contrast Paints and kept to the browns.

His mottled skin is actually the same mix of Snakebite Leather and Militarum Green I used on the armour of my Plague Marines. His sword and armour were painted with Black Templar, which I then went over with a metallic paint on the edges.

The base was a series of dark greys over black, with a couple of very bright greys placed here and there.

Very nice mate, Contrast paint works really well on the orks.

He looks great- certainly gives off a dank, grubby, dangerous vibe.

He looks just as dangerous and untrustworthy as he did in the movie. Great job painting this guy, Dave!
