Yes, it’s Pandemic! Irony aside, Pandemic is a good choice of board game for those either stuck inside or simply choosing to spend more time at home. It’s a cooperative game where everyone either wins or loses together, and involves relying on one another’s skills to succeed.
ICv2 has published their latest sales charts. Board games looks like this:
The other remarkable game here is Quacks of Quedlinburg coming in at number 3. I played this game once in July, and promptly went out an bought a copy for myself. It has since become a household staple. If you like the idea of a push-your-luck game involving competitive potion mixing, this game is for you. It’s a lot of fun, easy to learn, and plays in less than an hour.
Elsewhere in the industry, Magic continues to be the top selling CCG – but only in the hobby channel (games stores). Once you add in general retailers, Magic slips down.
In the world of miniatures, Games Workshop continues to dominate:
This once drifting company has gone from strength to strength in recent years. In my opinion this has been achieved by remembering they are a gaming company, and focusing more on their games. Bringing back old favourites such as Blood Bowl and Necromunda has been a hit, but their mainstay games are also going great, as seen in the charts above. 40k used to be second to FFG’s Star Wars game, but that company has lost ground. I don’t see Games Workshop losing its hold on those top 2 positions for years to come.
“Elsewhere in the industry, Magic continues to be the top selling CCG – but only in the hobby channel (games stores). Once you add in general retailers, Magic slips down.” found that interesting, as I asked myself how close the sales of Pokémon and Magic are, as their both huge, though Pkm seems to have less bad press
wonder how much impact Frostgrave 2 will have on the Wargaming/Skirmish market

It seems that Magic is still behind Yugioh and Pokemon in general retail.
On Frostgrave, I would love it if they expanded their miniatures chart to 10, but they haven’t done so even as the number of games going at once has grown.

For general retail its not so much of a surprise as MtG was until recently more or a less of a LGS game, though Wizards trying their best to cut them out.
That Yugioh is so successful surprises me though.
