Plague marines complete

After painting the Plagueburst Crawler I realised my collection of plague marines is now complete. Time for a group photo!

One thing about this group photo is I realise I need to set up some painted backgrounds for larger shots. Something for smaller shots of individuals would help too, but I definitely need something more interesting there than my garage wall!

The core of this force is the 8th edition box set of plague marines, plus a few extras.

The extras are either the easy-to-build marines and poxwalkers, or else contents from Warhammer 40,000 Conquest. There’s a few other models in that magazine I would like, however supplies were interrupted back in April, and I’m not sure they will resume.

If I do pick up more, they will count as a separate project.

Nice work Dave! A worthy warband to be sure. I like the blue trousers on your Poxwalkers. They really pop!

Thanks! For the pants I used a turquoise from the Vallejo game color range and made it paler by adding white.

That is a great ‘family photo’- love it.

    Cheers,

Nice work, Dave. They look very cool all posed together as a solid force!
Conquest seems to be sporadic now – though I have my copies “booked” at the newsagents, so they order them in for me specifically. I know partworks magazines tend to drop of dramatically and eventually tend to go special order only in my experience, as newsagents stop stocking them because most people peter out quickly…

I have some on order too, but when those don’t come in it’s difficult for me to tell what issue we are up to. I think it’s 60.

Love a group shot; it is satisfying to reach a point where it can happen.

Very impressive Dave. There is nothing quite as awesome as a group shot.

Yes, I’m glad I made the effort to get the group back together; the models were already split between three different storage boxes!

  7. Dunno about the background… But that floor/table looks amazing and does wonders to highlight your collection!

They look really nice, especially on top of your terrain. Definitely an accomplishment to get so many minis painted šŸ™‚
