Scent of a Gamer

From the computer to the tabletop, this is all about games. Updated each week-end.

Arcane scatter ruins

The Arcane Ruins set is a scenery kit which gives you a lot of table coverage. Here, I have put three ‘spare’ pieces on their own bases to use as scatter terrain on tables. I also managed to rescue a wall section from that cursed Numinous Occulum set, so that has been painted to match.

They look fine, though as I see these images in the blog editor, I realise I forgot to tidy up the base rims. I will get onto that, I promise!

Compare and contrast the two images. The second is the same except I opened a curtain to add some natural light.

I have had to move the final piece of Arcane Ruins to the next tray, as once I based up these pieces I realised there was no more space on the current tray.

I never would have guessed those were the same images. Amazing how light makes such a difference.

I know, it was interesting how different the colours looked in each image.

The type of light certainly plays a role in the hue of the photo, that and it appears that the natural light was coming from behind your camera, acting as a diffuse fill light. Very nicely done!

Yes, in this case the natural light source was behind me, while the artificial light source is above

Nice- I always try to photograph under natural light.

    Cheers,

    Pete.

The difference between natural and artificial light was really interesting here.
