The camera revisits: Blood Bowl Chaos

Another early project that could benefit from the camera is my Chaos Blood Bowl team.

This is not sculpted by Games Workshop, but by Willy Miniatures. This remains my only non-GW Blood Bowl team.

Awesome man. I keep meaning to get some BB models for kitbashing.

Cheers IRO. One thing I found while sorting through my bits last weekend were spare beards from my dwarf BB set. No idea what I will do with them though!

Just realized my “DO IT!” comment got out of order, I was replying to IRO’s “I keep meaning to get some BB models for kitbashing.”

Iโ€™m starting to prefer 3rd party B.B. teams. There are some real gems out there and not only are some of the sculpts superior to GW (at least in my eyes) there have the advantage that you can purchase them as a full team. No more having to buy two boxes and being left with a number of extra models or having to buy expensive extras from FW. Also the GW selling practices of having all the pitches and team cards as limited runs which normally sell out faster than you can say Indomitus, has really p*ssed me off on occasion. For a company that exists to maximise returns for its investors, I just donโ€™t get some of their selling strategies.

Yes it’s good that companies like Greebo, Willy etc will sell you a team of 16 containing exactly the players you need to put a team together. The GW boxes of 12 don’t do it for me.

So true. After assembling all my BB teams this year, I found the 3rd Party ones were much easier. Also, I don’t have to customize any of them, because they tend to be all unique sculpts. Looking at you Single Sculpt Black Orc Blocker!!

Even worse on those cards….they can all go to the trash bin now, with the release of Season 2. That is really lame. I was pissed enough that the OWA release meant a bunch of the Star Players got changed, but season 2 is worse. I am still glad that they are releasing it, and I’m excited for it….but I’m going to be very hesitant about buying any card packs this time around.

Nice work Dave, and that is a great looking team. I almost bought the Chaos Warriors to replace the Blockers on GW’s team, but ended up doing conversions instead. How big are the Chaos Warriors next to the BB16 models? Willy minis tend to be a bit taller, so I’m guessing they scale well.

I’ve got Willy’s Chaos Renegades team and love them. I also own a few of their Trolls, which I prefer over GWs.

They scale really well to BB16 – and hopefully to the new BB20 models too!

Nice! So far I’ve found, unless they are really old Willy minis, they fit just right with the BB16 scale. IF they change scales in BB20, I quit! ๐Ÿ˜‰
