Bones project complete

It feels good to be making this post. Seven years after taking delivery of the first Bones Kickstarter project (there have been four more since then) I have finished my collection.

Seven years to get from this:

to this:

There are 274 models in my Bones collection all up, and this includes some models from the second and third Bones Kickstarter projects.

In general I tried to place the largest models towards the back, with the smaller ones in front.

There’s a lot of variety in this collection, mainly fantasy but with other themes present.

The Kickstarter offered tremendous value, representing something like an 80% discount from their current retail price.

Would I do it again? Probably not. Unless I had no more than 50 other unpainted models. Then it would be a maybe.

I am happy they are complete, but I’m not impatient to start another 274.

Wow Dave. Very impressive – and something I’ll never manage to do myself! Kudos to your persistence! 🙂

Cheers Aza! I can thank the tray in many ways here, as I just kept making myself put a pile of Bones figures on each time.

Very impressive on both the painting and the patience to keep going.

There were definitely times when it felt like a slog, but I used that to deter myself from backing the 4th or 5th Kickstarters. We’ll see if I avoid the 6th one whenever that comes out!

This is belated but I can only echo what others have said. That is a seriously impressive accomplishment and the group shots are just awesome to see. People often underestimate the patience and persistence painting up a large group of mini takes and few people realize goals like this. You should feel very proud of this achievement 🙂

Thanks! I’ve always enjoyed other bloggers’ group shots and army pics. As you say it’s great to see the culmination of work like this
