24 hours of painting, times 3

Three popular YouTube channels got together recently and took a simultaneous attempt to paint as many models as possible in 24 hours.

Now, this is not the kind of thing I would ever attempt. Painting for a full day (8-10 hours) with breaks for meals and walks is about my limit. However these guys took on the challenge and had fun with it.

Due to the time different, two of the videos pooped up on my feed almost as soon as they were posted. In order, I watched Midwinter Minis:

This speed paint of Nurgle-themed space marines went great, much faster than my plague marines and poxwalkers, for sure!

Next up in my feed was Goobertown Hobbies:

I’ve only watched a few Goobertown vidoes in the past, but I’ve now added it to my subscriptions and it seems I have some serious catching up to do. In this video a group of Blood Angels were painted, but not quite to completion.

Finally came Miniac:

I don’t think I’ve watched a video from this channel before, but enough laugh out loud moments mean I will probably watch plenty more. This video featured both the longest paint time and the fewest models painted.

Again I would not recommend taking painting to this extreme, but there is plenty to learn by watching each of these painter tackle the same challenge in a different way.

I’m assuming a lot of caffeine was ingested?

I think Goobertown has done a similar challenge before, I think he painted up a whole Chaos army.

Yes, that was the first Goobertown video I watched. It was fascinating to see him paint yellow over a pink undercoat.

Great set of videos- they popped up in my feed too yesterday. I think that MMW made the best job of it getting a whole army done like that.

    Cheers,

    Pete.

Yes I think Guy’s ability to plan, even briefly, what he’s going to do keeps him on track during these things

I like a challenge but 24 hours of painting would kill me hehe. Miniac is a great channel. Lots of humour.

Yes I would never paint for that long either. I was surprised how many times I laughed out loud watching Miniac for the first time.
