20 minute terrain painting

YouTube servived me up a channel I haven’t come across before, and they have some nice videos about painting models quickly and without an airbrush. This is relevant to my interests.

This is a good video which lays out the colours clearly and shows the whole process from start to finish. It lacks the polish of something like Xenus minis, and a visual paint guide similar to that channel would have suited me. With that aside though, I think this forms a great guide and shows off some effects you can achieve over terrain in a remarkable short space of time.

The channel is called Artis Opus and I will be keeping an eye out for future content.

A good tutorial. I have a set of Artis Opus brushes which I have yet to use and was tempted to buy their dry brushes. May now take the plunge seeing them in use in this video.

Like the video, glad it was a video, because it was hard to understand what he was saying with that thickly accented English!

I’ll have to check it out as well, thanks for sharing. I’m particularly interested in tutorials and techniques that don’t require an airbrush.

This was a bog part of the appeal for me too, seamless looking transitions with no airbrush required

I had the same pop up in my own YouTube feed. A good video and I’ve added it to my reference folder in there to use when I want some spectral/weird looking but striking terrain…

Thanks for sharing this, Dave. I’m not the best at finding good hobby videos to watch on Youtube and the techniques and results are quite nice. Drybrushing can certainly be useful and this video has me thinking about ways I can better paint something well and fast!

Yes, the videos I have found on YouTube over the past few months have made me reconsider drybrushing and use it more often
