Blackstone Fortress: Escalation – Montbard

I completed another character model of Blackstone Fortress: Escalation, this time it’s Gotfret de Montfort:

This model took a short time to paint – I wasn’t measuring exactly, but I’d say about 70 minutes from start to finish. I used the Midwinter Minis tutorial to start my off again, and while I made a few changes, I stayed quite close to their method.

Here’s my method for contrast. I started similarly, with a black undercoat which I tidied up as best I could. Then I used a similar black/silver/blue mix on the armour:

Next, I turned the model around and worked on his clothing. I went with a deep red, mixed with black at first, before finally being highlighted sharply in orange.

That meant almost all the model was done, and the only thing left was to pick out a few details. I added some gold chasing here and there, and picked out the purity seals.

Done!

Always liked this model (well, the original) and the new version does appear to be even nicer. You’ve certainly done it justice here!
