I write about this when it first went to Kickstarter, and now I have my own copy. The White Box provides any budding tabletop game designer with a bunch of resources which are great for prototyping. While I didn’t back the Kickstarter, when I saw this on the shelves before Christmas I just had to have a copy.
I used my Christmas money in January to pick up this copy. Yes, I’m in my forties and I still get Christmas money.
With six variants of coloured dice, counters, and meeples, there’s a clear push towards making multiplayer worker placement style games. If that’s what is on your mind, this set should be great for you.
If there’s one thing I think this box lacks, it’s cards. A pack of 200 or so blank white cards would have been perfect. But what is there gives me plenty to work with. Should I come up with a draft design I’m happy with I will let everyone here know!
That looks neat! Will be good to see what you come up with!
