Unsanctioned Magic set

The newest ‘Un’ set for Magic is coming very soon. This release takes a different direction to previous Un sets and is released as a set of five decks. There are only a few new cards in this set, 27 I think, with the rest benig made up of reprints from previous Un sets.

These Un sets leave me cold as a player. I find the humour either basic or unfunny – but enough about me. The humorous take appeals to some players a lot, so if that’s you, there’s a new release with your name on it!

What more players look for are the full art lands. These feautred in each of the first 3 Un sets, and they return in this one too:

These haven’t been universally well received by players, and there are traditional land cards in the set too:

I guess there’s something for everyone here.

You can see all cards in Unsanctioned at Scryfall.

I’ve never understood the reason why people enjoy the un-sets so much. I saw a Game Knights on youtube where Gavin and Mark Rosewater played with the guys and it was a fun episode but only as a novelty thing. I couldn’t imagine playing it more than once before I became sick of it.

I’m always a fan of new full art lands. Personally, I still collect the BFZ versions when I need to restock, but the more types the better as far as I’m concerned.

Yes, I like these lands, but I don’t intend to buy a bunch of silver-bordered cards I will never use just to get access to them.
