Necromunda: Dark Rising announced

Essen Spiel is on, and Games Workshop are at the world’s largest board game convention with their own announcements. The one that caught my eye is the new boxed set for Necromunda.

The new boxed set comes with some nice multi-level terrain and two gangs. The first is the Enforcers that we have already seen. The second is a very nice looking set of chaos cultists:

I find this new gang genuinely interesting.

I think it goes without saying that I’m hugely excited about this one. Rumour has it that it’s going to be quite expensive (and although I’m not one to believe rumours until I see something official I wouldn’t be surprised) – but I think I’m going to have to just bite the bullet and spend the cash anyway. Incidentally, and please excuse me being a Necromunda fanboy/pedant – but some of the Enforcers are new as well. In the official photo 5 of them are the same models that were released a couple of months ago, but the whole front row are new. They’re Palanite Subjugators, with heavier armour and shields, and are definitely entirely different and bulkier models to the previous set. I’m guessing, given that the current Enforcers set has two identical sprues in it, we’ll get one of the those sprues in this set (enough to make 5 Enforcers) alongside the six new Subjugators and the wonderful Corpse Grinders.

Yes, the new enforcers look very nice, and the multi-level terrain is the big draw card for me.

This seems more impressive in terms of terrain than the first box, for sure.
