Bones update 38

This Bones update features Bones in the form of skeletons. These were painted to answer the question of can Bones be painted using GW’s new Contrast Paints?

The answer is: yes, but there’s no real advantage to doing so.

Contrast Paints go over Bones well enough, except you’ll be using two coats. The models above were painted with Skeleton Horde, Basilcanium Grey, Nazdreg Yellow, and Cygor Brown, and Snakebite Leather. I used non-contrast green for the fletching.

This worked well enough, but I don’t expect to switch to using Contrast Paint on the rest of the range as it’s not really the right tool for the job, in my opinion.

I guess the key question from my perspective is whether you primed them or not first before using the Contrast and if so, what you used to prime them. Also, if they’re tacky in a week or a month’s time…
They look solid for Bones skellys, anyway!

Good questions and I should have said. I used no primer at all, I never do with Bones. Two coats of contrast seemed enough, no stickiness yet
