I bought this box of 10 models in 2017, when I had the chance to purchase at UK prices. It is now complete:
I enjoyed painting this group, and used the new Contrast Paint range from GW a lot, since my pots were delivered just as I started wondering how I was going to paint these guys.
As it turned out I used contract an almost all the models, Even the skin has a light coat of Shysh Purple to give them an inhuman tint. My favourite was the Nazdreg Yellow which gave a strong colour even over the off-white undercoat.
I then used Astrogranite and Astrogranite Debris texture paint to suggest a lunar type environment. Here they are again on one of my ash waste boards:
I was thinking about adding more models to this force, but if that happens it will be further down the track as I’m really getting more focused now on painting the models I have before buying too many more – heresy, I know!
Sweet, I really love those sculpts. Bought in 2017 and painted in 2019 is practically instantaneous by normal miniature wargaming standards!

Yes, great sculpts across the range and it’s been hard to fight the temptation to buy more. I’m trying to make painting quickly more the norm for me, but there’s lots of 90s era bare metal to prove me wrong!

A great looking squad, Dave. Nice to see how well the Contrast pants worked on them as well – I’m certainly going to be using them in order to speed up a lot of models as well.

Mostly using them right now to get annoying bits of neglected models done so I can ship them off the desk!
