Blackstone Fortress: spindle drones

The spindle drones are some of the more interesting figures in the Blackstone Fortress to me. Like UR-025, they aren’t part of any existing faction and so have a different look and feel.

I thought for a while about how to go about painting them until deciding that mostly metal, with a light blue glaze and red eye pieces, would work fine. I hope you agree.

The drones come attached to their slottabase pieces, which at first I thought was inconvenient. Having painting them I see it is meant to connect them directly to the technology of the Blackstone Fortress they are part of.

With this in mind I painted those bits in blue, trying to give the impression they were charging up on some hidden floorspace.

Those are some nice-looking drones, and your scheme for the base works well.

They look great. Your work on the Blackstone Fortress makes me want to pick up the game. I might have to do that.
