My experiments with glowing undead are over for now, with these three new additions to the line:
I picked a poor background as the lich lord on the right has a golden staff and headdress that don’t really show against the back ground.
Looking at all the models together, the scheme has let some very different undead models feel like part of the same line.
Here’s a better shot of the lich lord. I’ll return to this idea in due course for the Bones line. Later this year I’ll tackle the Gloomtide Shipwreck.
Great sculpts 👍🏼

Yes, and I think those new GW paints helped bring out the best in them

I might have to grab some down the track. Although I said that when they brought out those gem paints a few years back haha

I’m impressed. Those hang together really well, and the two colours harmonise a lot better than I thought they would. The “do it all with glazes” school of undead-painting has always appealed to me so it’s nice to see some technical paint that makes it work!

Thanks, yes I was impressed at how well the paints combined. I think highlighting them both the same way helped with that

Very nice collection of ethereal undead – have you had any “Stickiness” problems with the bones and those paints?

None at all, and I was concerned as I primed with white before using these paints, and that’s where I’ve had issues in the past.

I guess the obvious next question is.. “which white?”

Good point! I used a thin layer of Liquitex heavy body Titanium White. Costs about $8 depending on where you go and comes in 59ml tubes. I’m still on my first.

Thanks Dave. I’ll keep an eye out for it when I go near an art store next.
