The fifty-fourth book of the Horus Heresy series was released this week.
The Buried Dagger tells the story of how the Death Guard finally fell to chaos.
For those wondering what happened in the first fifty-three books in the series, well, I don’t want to spoil things for you. Here’s my tongue in cheek version:
In the grim darkness of the far future a group of space monks in concrete armour have divided themselves into two teams, and they’re having a big fight to see who’s best.
The tale of the Horus Heresy is a little more involved than that, and one known to fans of Warhammer 40,000 for years now, but never to this level of detail.
The story culminates in a scene immortalised in this diorama:
The story hasn’t finished in print yet. A new series, The Siege of Terra, will take over the story and bring it to its conclusion.

Of course, I’ve got the Ghaunt’s Ghosts series coming up to try. I just can’t seem to make a clean break of it!
