From the computer to the tabletop, this is all about games. Updated each week-end.
Fireforge Games have launched a great range of historical miniatures over the past few years, covering the 11th-13th centuries. Mongols, Arabs and Crusaders are all included in their range, among others.
Recently they released a fantasy themed box based around one of their crusader orders, but with a few fantasy parts included. This was obviously successful as they now have a Forgotten World project on Kickstarter to hep them expand into an entire fantasy world.
The box contents have a distinct Game of Thrones feel, with human warriors facing off against undead hordes.
That’s over 100 models in the starter set, with more stretch goal models promised, covering characters for each faction.
I like the look and feel of both factions. Here’ an example of painted prototypes:
This is one box worth of Northmen warriors. Fireforge’s historical boxes usually contain over 30 infantry models or 12 mounted, but for this range the numbers per box are 12 and 6, respectively.
Of all the backer tiers it’s the Early Bird pledge which gives 8 boxes of your choice for €120. This can be any 8 boxes, making for a quite cost-effective way to start a new army, whether this be undead, fantasy humans, or one of the other factions that may be unlocked depending on how the project goes.
