Around 2003 I painted the Fellowship of the Ring for my mother, a huge Lord of the Rings fan.
I decided it’s time for an upgrade, a decision I made when I found the plastic Fellowship sprue lying in a drawer under the house. The last group I painted were the original metal models, but the plastics seem just as nice.
Here are the Fellowship themselves, all undercoated and ready to go.
The next step is to get a modelled based ready to take all nine models. I have an opened box of Osgiliath terrain, which should help nicely.
I must get this project complete before the first week of April this year.
Ohh man – that’s a trip down memory lane. I remember having the original metal minis. Awesome. I really hope you enjoy painting them!

Our mums appear to be quite similar on this front as I ‘borrowed’ the gw lotrs Miniatures she had found on eBay and painted them up for this years Xmas present for her.

Is that figure on the right wielding a frying pan?!?

Yes, that’s Sam Gamgee. The figures’ poses are based on the Balin’s Tomb sequence from the Fellowship film.
