I’ve completed the biggest model I’ve painted for a while – the Goremaw model from my Bones 3. It’s all thanks to Azazel’s Decembruary idea – painting something big over December and January. Otherwise Goremaw might still be languishing in a box under the house.
I used large brushes for this project, brushes that were previously only used on terrain. Looking at the images now, the model would benefit from another wash – probably brown.
It’s a big model, here’s a partial shot of Goremaw with a couple of GW figures for comparison:
Towering over the terminator!
Thanks again Azazel for the Decembruary idea!
That’s awesome to see, mate! The next question is do you have enough time left for another?

Sadly no, as I had a brainwave of painting the Fellowship of the Ring for my mother, whose birthday is in early April. She’s a big Lord of the Rings fan, so I will put some time into this over the next couple of months.
Having said that, if I can paint my Shub-Niggurath model this year I’ll be very happy!

Yes it is very nice, I particularly like how the colors work and blend together. I do agree perhaps another wash would make it even better, though I’d definitely go with a light wash because you can always add more if needed and my gut tells me that a heavy wash might be a bad thing, but I don’t know.

Very true, Ann. I’ve certainly made the mistake of going too dark with end-washes.
