Scent of a Gamer

From the computer to the tabletop, this is all about games. Updated each week-end.

The week in inspiration #4

This week’s inspiration revolves around the painting and modelling sphere, even though I met my yearly target there.

Participate

Fellow Blogger Azazel announced a Decembuary painting event, the idea being that you paint a large model (not scenery) over the months of December and January. I’ll be painting my Bones Goremaw model. Goremaw is one of my larger Bones models, as seen in the group shot below:

Perhaps you also have a large figure you’d like to paint?

Necromunda by George Miller (converting & modelling)

Another fellow blogger, Imperialrebelork, constantly amazes my with his creations and conversions. I just had to share the model below, a combination of the new Necromunda Goliaths, an Ork bike, and a whole lot of creativity!

Have your say

Games Workshop have opened up their Warhammer community survey. Yes, you heard correctly – Games Workshop are asking for their customers’ opinions!

The survey takes 20 minutes to complete, more if you really want to get into the feedback. The survey contains several open text boxes where you can type longer responses if you wish. Click the graphic below to access the survey.

My feedback mainly concerned the so-called ‘Australia tax’ where gamers here pay significantly more for GW items for no good reason. I was amused that the £50 voucher becomes a $100 voucher for Australia respondents, given a £50 item would cost us $140 due to GWs pricing policy!

Art

The art inspiration this week comes from Seb McKinnon. His balance art for Magic: the Gathering shows an ancient battlefield frozen in time.
