Scent of a Gamer

From the computer to the tabletop, this is all about games. Updated each week-end.

ArtStation stop: Igor Sid

If you’ve heard of Igor Sid before, it’s probably from his excellent work over recent years on the art for Games Workshop’s boxed games. Warhammer Quest Shadows over Hammerhal, Warhammer 40,000 Dark Imperium, and Shadowwar: Armageddon were all the work of Igor Sid.

There’s more to this artist than box art as you’ll see from this selection (click to enlarge):

Berserker vs Beastclaw

Ogres clash with dwarf berserkers in this epic artwork for the Aage of Sigmar setting.

Iron Warrior

The Iron Warriors were once loyal space marines, but these specialist siege breakers turned traitor during the Horus Heresy and since then have been hunted down whenever they emerge from their domains in the Eye of Terror.

Iron Warriors are often depicted en masse; this image shows the individual power of these fighters.

The Christmas White Dwarf

This more humorous art shows recurring character the White Dwarf in his Christmas power armour. His eternal nemesis, the Black Gobbo, is trying to make away with the presents!

Raven Wizard

This piece shows more muted colours than his pieces for games Workshop.

From the same series as the Rave Wizard above, another sombre, muted piece done using reds and browns.
