From the computer to the tabletop, this is all about games. Updated each week-end.
The next faction has been announced for Warhammer: Total War, and it’s the Norse who will be joining us in the game.
If you missed it, here it is:
The announcement is interesting for a number of reasons.
Firstly, the game to date has kept to Warhammer 8th edition. Characters and factions that were in previous editions but not in 8th have not featured so far. The last time you could take a Norse faction was in 3rd edition.
This could mean we may see Kislev, Dogs of War, or Chaos Dwarfs in later updates.
The other interesting thing I noticed was that this update will be free if you pre-order the second game in the series. The Norse will only appear on the map for the first game (as far as I know) so this pre-order bonus is aimed squarely at players who bought the first game.
Finally we are getting a chaos war mammoth. This is another first – a model that was previously ForgeWorld exclusive rather than available on general release. The mammoth is sadly discontinued these days, although that is not really surprising.
It looks like there is plenty of life in Total War: Warhammer, even with a sequel due soon.
